Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Young Sailors On Coney Island by Samuel S. Carr. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,240.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Samuel S. Carr have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2011 the work Beach at Coney Island was auctioned for USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,780.19).

Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Sailors On Coney Island von Samuel S. Carr zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.240,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Samuel S. Carr konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2011 die Arbeit Beach at Coney Island für USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.780,19) versteigert.
