Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,530.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Owen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A frigate, an excursion steamer and barges on the Thames before Greenwich Hospital in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,770.49).
