Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,764.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Samuel Owen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A frigate, an excursion steamer and barges on the Thames before Greenwich Hospital in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,770.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shipping off Mont St Michel, Normandy von Samuel Owen kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.512,00 (€ 1.764,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
