Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Mont Saint Michel, France by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm for GBP 376.00 (€ 614.33). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four Views Of Switzerland: Including View Of: The Grimsel Pass With The Handeck Waterfall; The Haslital; The Schollenen Gorge And Devil'S Bridge, And A Bridge With Waterfalls In The Haslital in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,035.81).
