Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A cottage and small bridge in a landscape by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm for USD 776.75 (€ 740.82). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Hieronymus Grimm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four Views Of Switzerland: Including View Of: The Grimsel Pass With The Handeck Waterfall; The Haslital; The Schollenen Gorge And Devil'S Bridge, And A Bridge With Waterfalls In The Haslital in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,035.81).
