Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Frigates of the Royal Navy off Torbay, Devon by Samuel Atkins. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 962.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Atkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Honourable East India Company's ships Devonshire, Woodford and Lord Duncan lying on the Thames off Blackwall (illustrated) ; View of Battersea; and View of Penny's Dockyard at Blackwall (illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,779.99).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 962,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden.
