Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'A Man of War in a Fresh Gale' unframed by Samuel Atkins. It changed hands for a price of GBP 768.00 (€ 881.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Atkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Honourable East India Company's ships Devonshire, Woodford and Lord Duncan lying on the Thames off Blackwall (illustrated) ; View of Battersea; and View of Penny's Dockyard at Blackwall (illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,779.99).

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'A Man of War in a Fresh Gale' unframed von Samuel Atkins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 768,00 (€ 881,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Atkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Honourable East India Company's ships Devonshire, Woodford and Lord Duncan lying on the Thames off Blackwall (illustrated) ; View of Battersea; and View of Penny's Dockyard at Blackwall (illustrated) im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.779,99).
