Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Labyrinthe au Clair De Lune (Labyrinth in Moonlight) by Samir Rafi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,481.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samir Rafi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 101,493.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Labyrinthe au Clair De Lune (Labyrinth in Moonlight) von Samir Rafi im Dezember 2018 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.481,53) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samir Rafi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 101.493,72).
