This artwork by Samia Halaby achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November this year. In the Marhala: Highlights from the Dalloul Collection auction, the work Green and Earth sold for GBP 107,100.00 (€ 124,105.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samia Halaby - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mediterranean #279, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 400,000.00 (€ 446,534.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samia Halaby erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Marhala: Highlights from the Dalloul Collection wurde die Arbeit Green and Earth für GBP 107.100,00 (€ 124.105,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Samia Halaby mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mediterranean #279 beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 400.000,00 (€ 446.534,98) versteigert wurde.
