Despite a disappointment, a good price for Salvatore Zofrea
In May 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work The Odyssey by Salvatore Zofrea for AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,634.44). This price was achieved in the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS at Christies in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, The Odyssey is the most expensive artwork by Salvatore Zofrea that we have observed at auction so far.
