Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Virginia), from Mother Land by Sally Mann was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 13,804.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sally Mann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Virginia), from Mother Land von Sally Mann wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 13.804,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sally Mann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
