The work Untitled from Antietam by Sally Mann was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in May this year. It achieved a price of GBP 22,860.00 (€ 26,597.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52%. Admittedly, works by Sally Mann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled from Antietam von Sally Mann wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 22.860,00 (€ 26.597,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 52%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sally Mann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
