Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Jessie at 9, 1991 by Sally Mann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,420.00 (€ 21,562.31), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sally Mann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jessie at 9, 1991 von Sally Mann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 21.562,31) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sally Mann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
