Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ruth Root could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 97.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Root achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,998.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ruth Root konnte im Januar 2009 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 125,00 (€ 97,63) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Root erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.998,89).
