Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work American Girl in Italy, Florence, Italy by Ruth Orkin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 13,804.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ruth Orkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work American Girl in Florence, Italy, which sold at auction in February 2021 for USD 52,812.50 (€ 43,671.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Girl in Italy, Florence, Italy von Ruth Orkin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 13.804,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ruth Orkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit American Girl in Florence, Italy beobachtet, die im Februar 2021 für USD 52.812,50 (€ 43.671,96) versteigert wurde.
