Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work A b/w photograph of the Hungarian photographer Robert Capa (born as Endre Ernő Friedmann; 1913–1954) by Ruth Orkin was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 2,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,000.00 (€ 134.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Orkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Girl in Florence, Italy in February 2021 with an auction result of USD 52,812.50 (€ 43,671.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit A b/w photograph of the Hungarian photographer Robert Capa (born as Endre Ernő Friedmann; 1913–1954) von Ruth Orkin im April diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 2.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.000,00 (€ 134,15) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Orkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Girl in Florence, Italy im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.812,50 (€ 43.671,96).
