The work Australian Gunners by Russell Drysdale was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 6,000.00 (€ 3,527.52), 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Russell Drysdale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian rocky Mccormack in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 1,890,000.00 (€ 1,103,283.80).

Die Arbeit Australian Gunners von Russell Drysdale wurde im August 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 6.000,00 (€ 3.527,52) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Russell Drysdale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian rocky Mccormack im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.890.000,00 (€ 1.103.283,80).
