In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Astor Place, 1948 sold for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,854.16) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rudy Burckhardt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flatiron Building, Summer, 1948, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 10,200.00 (€ 7,709.75).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rudy Burckhardt erzielte im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II wurde die Arbeit Astor Place, 1948 für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.854,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rudy Burckhardt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flatiron Building, Summer, 1948 beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 10.200,00 (€ 7.709,75) versteigert wurde.
