Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Yachts Racing Around Ailsa Craig; And A Three-Master Running Down The Coast by Rowland John Robb Langmaid was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 105.75 (€ 168.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rowland John Robb Langmaid achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset, Westminster in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,960.41).

Als die Arbeit Yachts Racing Around Ailsa Craig; And A Three-Master Running Down The Coast von Rowland John Robb Langmaid im November 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 105,75 (€ 168,28) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rowland John Robb Langmaid erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset, Westminster im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.960,41).
