The »bidding war« ended at GBP 454.10 (€ 653.22), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rowland John Robb Langmaid have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset, Westminster in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,960.41).

Die Arbeit Britannia, White Heather And Shamrock Racing In The Solent Off Ryde von Rowland John Robb Langmaid wurde im November 2004 in der Auktion MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES) bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 454,10 (€ 653,22) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowland John Robb Langmaid auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset, Westminster im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.960,41).
