lithograph, 1861, on cream Chine collé on white simili-Japan paper, Preaud’s first state B (of two), with the ‘white bird’, printed by Lemercier, Paris, with his address, one of 125 impressions on this paper printed from the original stone (there were a further 175 on two different types of Chine collé), with small margins on three sides and a wider margin below, occasional foxing and creasing mainly in the margins, generally in good condition

In March 2018 Christies in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Le Bon Samaritain by Rodolphe Bresdin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,231.94), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rodolphe Bresdin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 39,435.00 (€ 57,451.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Bon Samaritain von Rodolphe Bresdin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.231,94) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodolphe Bresdin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.435,00 (€ 57.451,81).
