Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work SILVER TOUNGED by Robert Zakanitch was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,407.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Zakanitch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hot Top (Copa Series), which sold at auction in June 2015 for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,137.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit SILVER TOUNGED von Robert Zakanitch im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.407,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Zakanitch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hot Top (Copa Series) beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.137,89) versteigert wurde.
