Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Vickrey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the American Art auction, the work Lake Regatta sold for USD 11,475.00 (€ 10,166.56) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Vickrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Green Thought, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 35,312.50 (€ 28,958.91).

In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Lake Regatta für USD 11.475,00 (€ 10.166,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Vickrey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Green Thought beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 35.312,50 (€ 28.958,91) versteigert wurde.
