Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs, which included the work Lisa Lyon, 1982 by Robert Mapplethorpe. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,370.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Mapplethorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 548,750.00 (€ 625,682.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lisa Lyon, 1982 von Robert Mapplethorpe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.370,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Mapplethorpe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 548.750,00 (€ 625.682,41).
