Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Woman in a Gondola with San Giorgio Maggiore in the Background (In the Gondola) by Robert Frederick Blum was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 85,000.00 (€ 57,870.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frederick Blum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venetian Gondoliers in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 924,053.70).
