Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Canal in Harlem, Holland by Robert Frederick Blum was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,186.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frederick Blum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venetian Gondoliers in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 924,053.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Canal in Harlem, Holland von Robert Frederick Blum im August 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.186,36) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frederick Blum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venetian Gondoliers im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 924.053,70).
