Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View of Blackwall, With Part of The Dockyard, At The Launching of The Bombay Castle, 74 Guns, Built At The Expense of The Hon. East India Company And Presented By Them To His Majesty by Robert Dodd was sold in the Maritime Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The price achieved of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,012.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Dodd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Greenland Whale Fishery in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 88,800.00 (€ 131,870.78).

East India Company And Presented By Them To His Majesty von Robert Dodd wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion Maritime Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.012,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Dodd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Greenland Whale Fishery im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 88.800,00 (€ 131.870,78).
