In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A view of the Royal Dockyard at Deptford by Robert Dodd. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 583.70) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Dodd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Greenland Whale Fishery in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 88,800.00 (€ 131,870.78).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of the Royal Dockyard at Deptford von Robert Dodd zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 583,70) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Dodd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Greenland Whale Fishery im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 88.800,00 (€ 131.870,78).
