Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection, which included the work The Contrast by Robert Dighton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,570.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Robert Dighton have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2013 the work Tally Ho! was auctioned for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,999.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings including French Masterworks from the Dormeuil Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Contrast von Robert Dighton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.570,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Robert Dighton konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2013 die Arbeit Tally Ho! für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.999,20) versteigert.
