Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A coachman and his team by Robert Dighton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,497.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Dighton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tally Ho!, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,999.20).
