Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Étude pour l'Équipe de Cardiff by Robert Delaunay was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 60,480.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Delaunay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tour Eiffel in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,462,375.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Étude pour l'Équipe de Cardiff von Robert Delaunay im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 60.480,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Delaunay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tour Eiffel im Februar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.737.250,00 (€ 4.462.375,53).
