Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work You Have Such Beautiful Hair, My Darling by Robert Colescott. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 113,775.00 (€ 106,024.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Colescott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington Carver Crossing The Delaware: Page From An American History Textbook in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,315,900.00 (€ 12,560,193.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit You Have Such Beautiful Hair, My Darling von Robert Colescott zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 113.775,00 (€ 106.024,60) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Colescott erzielen.
