Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lone Wolf by Robert Colescott was sold in the Contemporary Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,038.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Colescott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington Carver Crossing The Delaware: Page From An American History Textbook in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,315,900.00 (€ 12,560,193.54).
