Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Crouching Cat by Robert Clatworthy was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 1,969.30). Admittedly, works by Robert Clatworthy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Horse & Rider in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 15,258.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Crouching Cat von Robert Clatworthy im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 1.969,30) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Clatworthy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Horse & Rider im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 15.258,20).
