The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,773.97), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert Anning Bell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Reliefs: A Mermaid; The Fortune Teller; And The Ball Of Wool (Two Linked Designs) in September 2021 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,270.28).

Die Arbeit 'See where my love a-maying goes/with sweet Dame Flora playing.' von Robert Anning Bell wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion British Art on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.773,97) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Anning Bell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Four Reliefs: A Mermaid; The Fortune Teller; And The Ball Of Wool (Two Linked Designs) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.270,28).
