Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Demonstration No. 30) by Rirkrit Tiravanija was auctioned at Phillips in Bidding Closes in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,789.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rirkrit Tiravanija achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (THE DAYS OF THIS SOCIETY IS NUMBERED) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 98,280.00 (€ 83,692.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Demonstration No. 30) von Rirkrit Tiravanija im April 2019 bei Phillips in Bidding Closes versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.789,93) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rirkrit Tiravanija erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (THE DAYS OF THIS SOCIETY IS NUMBERED) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 98.280,00 (€ 83.692,41).
