The work Lion head by Rien Poortvliet was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2006. It achieved a price of EUR 4,800.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rien Poortvliet; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tegen de draad in sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of EUR 5,975.00.

Die Arbeit Lion head von Rien Poortvliet wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.800,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60 %. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rien Poortvliet; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Tegen de draad in im Juni 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.975,00.
