It achieved a price of EUR 1,135.25 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26 %. Admittedly, works by Rien Poortvliet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tegen de draad in in June 2004 with an auction result of EUR 5,975.00.

Die Arbeit Jay feeding chicks von Rien Poortvliet wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 1.135,25 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rien Poortvliet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tegen de draad in im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.975,00.
