The work Just After the Rain by Rieko Sakurai was worth HKD 427,500.00 (€ 37,371.32) to a buyer in November 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Art at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rieko Sakurai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dots Girl sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 667,500.00 (€ 54,952.92).
