Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Watching Quietly by Rieko Sakurai was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2010. The price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 12,986.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rieko Sakurai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dots Girl in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 667,500.00 (€ 54,952.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Watching Quietly von Rieko Sakurai wurde im Mai 2010 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 12.986,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rieko Sakurai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dots Girl im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 667.500,00 (€ 54.952,92).
