Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work I Still Wanna Stay Here by Rieko Sakurai for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 13,901.86). This price was achieved in the auction Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 180,000.00 – 260,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rieko Sakurai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dots Girl, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 667,500.00 (€ 54,952.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit I Still Wanna Stay Here von Rieko Sakurai für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 13.901,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 260.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rieko Sakurai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dots Girl beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 667.500,00 (€ 54.952,92) versteigert wurde.
