Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online, which included the work Wall Hung Steel Small Sculpture, 1988 by Richard Nonas. The price achieved of USD 5,440.00 (€ 5,139.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Nonas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Downtown shortline., which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 15,480.00.

Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wall Hung Steel Small Sculpture, 1988 von Richard Nonas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.440,00 (€ 5.139,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Nonas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Downtown shortline. beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 15.480,00 versteigert wurde.
