Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beer Beach Flint Pebble Line by Richard Long was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,731.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Long have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,379.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Beer Beach Flint Pebble Line von Richard Long wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 17.731,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Long auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.379,61).
