The work Betty'S Ball Room by Richard Hickam was sold in the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,670.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Hickam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Churchman, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,576.62).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.670,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Hickam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Churchman beobachtet, die im September 2011 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.576,62) versteigert wurde.
