Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Standing Shadow in Orange and Pink by Richard Hambleton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,687.91), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Richard Hambleton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work As The World Burns - 1983 in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 474,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Shadow in Orange and Pink von Richard Hambleton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.687,91) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Hambleton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit As The World Burns - 1983 im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 474.000,00.
