Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included the work Jumping Shadow by Richard Hambleton. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,600.00 (€ 74,103.12). Admittedly, works by Richard Hambleton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work As The World Burns - 1983 in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 474,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jumping Shadow von Richard Hambleton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.600,00 (€ 74.103,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Hambleton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit As The World Burns - 1983 im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 474.000,00.
