This artwork by Richard Deacon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in September 2016. In the New Now auction, the work Coat sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,614.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Richard Deacon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Breath sold at auction in June 2010 with the realized price of GBP 85,250.00 (€ 103,671.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Deacon erzielte im September 2016 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Coat für USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.614,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Richard Deacon; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Breath im Juni 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 85.250,00 (€ 103.671,93).
