Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Richard Cosway could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction, the work Portrait Of A Mother And Child, Circa 1795 changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,862.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Cosway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Maria Fitzherbert in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 89,207.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Cosway konnte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Mother And Child, Circa 1795 für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.862,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Cosway erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Maria Fitzherbert im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 89.207,10).
