Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Suzy Parker, Evening dress by Dior, Paris studio, August by Richard Avedon was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 63,500.00 (€ 60,087.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.500,00 (€ 60.087,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Avedon erzielen.
