A top price for Richard Avedon - as previously expected
The work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London by Richard Avedon was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700,000.00 – 900,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London is the most expensive artwork by Richard Avedon that we have observed at auctions so far.
